Lucy Comes Home

Lucy came home from the vet Friday afternoon. I was so happy to finally get her back. Her leg looked much worse then I imagined it would. In fact it was pretty ghastly. We had done our research so we should have known it was going to be bad, but when it is your own sweet dog, it is very hard to take. My stomach has been in knots for nearly a week, with worry, sadness and self pity. I pray each day will be better for her then the last. Better for me and my hubby too. I've been throwing myself a pity party every night with a little wine, some tears and then raiding the cupboards for goodies. Lucy has a long recovery ahead of her, but for right now all I want is for her to get a good nights sleep and eat. For a chow hound she has eaten very little since shes been home. She doesn't trust that we aren't packing all the food with drugs. If I cannot get her to eat tomorrow I will have another thing to worry about. Yikes! My poor poor baby.
Who is that doggie in the window. Lucy was the model for this fun painting. Painted for Flying House Productions for use in their winter catalogue.
