Pig Art

It is wet and green here in the N.W. Everything is growing at a rapid pace. If it wasn't for the snails and slugs it would soon be a jungle. It is really a delicious time of year. So rich, so fragrant and so soft. It would be nice to get a few more dry days, but this is somewhat normal for the NW and with Global Warming, long wet periods are just part of the package. Anyway this post is about "Pig Art". I painted a few Pigs in the last few weeks. It is not my usual subject, but I was stimulated by a story of a pig so desperate to escape his early demise, that he jumped off a moving truck and made his getaway. Unfortunately he didn't escape with out injury and a concerned citizen called Pasado's Safe Haven, who came and rescued the poor pig. They nursed him back to health and happiness. The Pig is now 800 pounds and living a wonderful life on their farm. You can read the whole story and others on their website at www.pasadosafehaven.org and you can see more art at www.janetwoldart.com
