Singing in the Rain
Even though winter is still technically here, there has been a spring feel in the air the last couple of days. I've spotted the small green heads of spring bulbs popping up from the earth. Maybe they know something we don't. The days are already noticeably longer. I thought this would be a good time to show one of the paintings I was commissioned to do for Flying House Productions. The photo is of a painting by me Janet Wold, and is featured on the spring 2009 promotion for the Seattle Men's Chorus. The show is named "Singing in the Rain", so you can just imagine what wonderful music will be featured in this spring show. You can view my tuxedo shirt painting as well as some of my other work at
http://www.flyinghouse.org/press/artwork.asp , and while you are at it you can view the ticket information for this show and the season lineup.

Baby's First Fair
I was honored to be asked to create a piece of art for the permanent collection of Snohomish County. My piece is a 30 x 40 inch painting in acrylics, named "Baby's First Fair". The painting has been added to the wonderful growing art collection and is on display at the Snohomish County campus in Everett. My painting was also used as the image for "Arts Together" Creative Arts Festival.

Looking back on a great year
This wonderful picture is of a commissioned painting I did for a surprise Christmas gift. It was commissioned by a very nice husband to his very special wife. This is Coco. She is a sweet little cocker spaniel. You can tell she is sweet just form this photo of her painting. It was a joy working on this painting, not just because the dog was so cute, but because her people love her so much. For more dog art see www.janetwoldart.com
Tica, Cat of the Year
Happy Hew Year.
The photo is of a commissioned cat portrait. This is Tica a very good family cat. I thought this painting looked like a New Year painting, as the cat seems to me surveying the cosmos. I like to think of her as looking into the future. While she may see some trouble ahead, she also see love and good times too.
